Having staff that do not speak or understand English

Recently I have been supporting clients that have staff and contractors that do not speak or understand English.

This could be a problem, however here are some tips to help you:

  1. Arrange for a translator to attend a training session so that everything can be explained to them.
  2. Have the safety documents translated for the site staff.
  3. Ensure they understand all of the documents and check for understanding.
  4. Safety signs can be made in the necessary language.
  5. Ask staff to sign their acceptance and understanding.
