About Joanne Hunt

Having started my career working in the family tenpin bowling centre business I went on to competitively participate in the sport and eventually represented Great Britain in both national and international bowling
competitions.

Finding myself in the frontline of the industry I was able to see the “bigger picture”, especially in relation to Health and Safety, and recognised very early on the need for strong compliance in the field.

When my competitive career drew to a natural end, I focused on applying the skills and knowledge gained through first hand experience of working in the leisure industry to create something unique and professional.

In 1991 this focus resulted in the founding of Chestnut Associates, a “one-stop” service to support clients in achieving compliance in relation to their legal Health and Safety requirements.

Through experience and practical application, complemented by an inherent insight into the needs of businesses of all sizes and scales, I’ve grown the business from its original roots into the company it is today.

I studied for 5 years and qualified with NEBOSH qualifications in H&S and construction sectors. I also attend regular continuous professional development training days (CPD). This enables me to keep upto date and to further my training and development.

Chestnut Associates manages the Health and Safety portfolios of over 50 clients in the UK and the business continues to grow, despite the economic uncertainty experienced by other businesses. The clients that work with me and my team know, without question, their needs are met in a unique and individual manner ensuring their Health and Safety agenda is compliant, robust and flexible enough to meet current and, importantly, future
needs.
